HOUSED IN A BLACK POWDER COAT ALUMINUM ENCLOSURE WITH A STURDY VINYL TOP HANDLE — KEEPING PORTABILITY AND DURABILITY IN MIND.
IT IS POWERED BY OUR PROPRIETARY SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY AND CUSTOM DISTRIBUTION BOARD.
THE SYSTEM FEATURES THE FOLLOWING THREE MODULAR UNITS:
PLEASE NOTE OUR CABLES ARE KEYED TO EACH MODULE, THE -12V RED LINE IS ALWAYS DOWN. USE OF ANY OTHER POWER CABLE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
THE EM-74 CHRONOGRAPH | ANALOG CV & TRIGGER SEQUENCER FEATURES:
THREE ROWS OF 8-STEP C.V. GENERATORS WITH INDIVIDUAL CV RANGE AND GLIDE CONTROLS FOR EACH ROW.
VINTAGE KEYBOARD KEYS AS BUTTONS, A UNIQUE DESIGN ELEMENT THAT FUNCTIONS TO PROVIDE EASE OF ACCESS AND SPEEDY RESPONSE TO THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: START/STOP, STEP, RESET. EACH BUTTON WITH A DEDICATED CV INPUT.
AN INTERNAL CLOCK OSCILLATOR WITH A FREQUENCY RANGING FROM .05 HZ TO 45 HZ. THE INTERNAL CLOCK MAY BE MODULATED VIA THE ONBOARD C.V. INPUT. THIS OSCILLATOR MAY ALSO BE ROUTED EXTERNALLY VIA THE CLOCK OUTPUT.
TRIGGER ASSIGNMENT AND POSITION VISUALIZED ALONG THE BOTTOM ROW OF THREE-POSITION (ON-OFF-ON) MINI SWITCHES. EXTERNAL CLOCK INPUT WITH MANUAL STEP FUNCTIONALITY.
AN EXTERNAL CLOCK INPUT FUNCTION, WHICH ALLOWS CHRONOGRAPH TO BE UTILIZED AS A ‘GRAPHIC’ VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED OSCILLATOR—THEREBY ENABLING THE USER TO CREATE AND MANIPULATE COMPLEX WAVESHAPES.
VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED ‘SKIP,’ WHICH IS BUILT ON A SEPARATE INTERNAL HIGH-SPEED OSCILLATOR. THIS SECONDARY VCO MAY BE MODULATED VIA THE ‘EXT. TRIG IN: SKIP’ INPUT, IN ORDER TO CREATE COMPLEX GLITCH PATTERNS. THE HIGH-SPEED OSCILLATOR MAY ALSO BE USED TO PRODUCE RANDOMIZED AND/OR HIGHLY CHAOTIC RHYTHMIC EVENTS. (THIS SUB-CIRCUIT DESIGN WAS INFLUENCED BY THE SKIPPING FEATURE FOUND IN THE VENERABLE ARP 1601 SEQUENCER).

EM-77 M.G.T. SEQUENTIAL SWITCH
EM-77 M.G.T. IS A BI-DIRECTIONAL SEQUENTIAL SWITCH, WHICH ALLOWS THE USER TO ROUTE EITHER AUDIO OR C.V. SIGNALS IN A SEQUENTIAL MANNER.
THIS PROCESS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY ROUTING ONE SOURCE TO TWO, THREE OR FOUR DESTINATIONS (1:2, 1:3, 1:4). ALTERNATIVELY, TWO, THREE OR FOUR SOURCES MAY BE ROUTED TO ONE DESTINATION (2:1, 3:1, 4:1).
THE SWITCHING CIRCUITRY MAY BE TRIGGERED BY APPLYING A CLOCK SIGNAL, OR MANUALLY VIA TACTILE PUSH.
FOR ENHANCED CONTROL, M.G.T. ALSO FEATURES ONBOARD ‘RESET’ AND ‘INHIBIT’ INPUTS. THE LATTER ‘INHIBIT’ FEATURE ENABLES THE USER TO FREEZE AND UN-FREEZE THE BINARY COUNTER.
EM-75 D.F.A. CLOCK DIVIDER
EM-75 D.F.A. CLOCK DIVIDER IS A FREQUENCY DETECTOR CIRCUIT, DESIGNED TO DERIVE DISPARATE DIVIDING FACTORS—BASED ON THE PRESENTED ‘DIVIDEND’ VARIABLE. THE
‘DIVIDEND’ VARIABLE MAY TAKE THE FORM OF A CLOCK, TRIGGER OR GATE SIGNAL.
THE MODULE THEN PROVIDES SIX ‘GENERATING QUOTIENT’ OUTPUTS (AT FACTORS OF 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 & 64, RESPECTIVELY). THESE QUOTIENTS MAY BE USED TO
GENERATE NEW FREQUENCIES AND/OR COMPLEX PATTERNS FOR POLYRHYTHMIC BEAT-MAKING. THE ACTIVATED QUOTIENTS ARE VISUALIZED VIA LED INDICATORS.
THE LAB SYSTEM 84 CASE IS AN 84 HP / 3U ENCLOSURE EXCLUSIVE TO THE LAB SYSTEMS (84 SYNTHESIZER AND THE SEQUENCER).
THIS RUGGED ALUMINUM CHASSIS IS MADE OF 4.00 MM ANODIZED ALUMINUM PANELS, IN A POWDER COATED BLACK. DESIGNED WITH PORTABILITY IN MIND, IT INCLUDES A STURDY 60’S VINTAGE TOP HANDLE MADE OF VINYL WITH NICKEL HARDWARE. THE 84 HP/3U MOUNTING RAILS INCLUDE 52 SLIDING NUTS FOR EASY MODULE POSITIONING.
INSIDE THE CASE IS OUR OWN POWER DISTRIBUTION BOARD WITH SEVEN 16-PIN MALE HEADERS AND OUR PROPRIETARY SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY.
ON THE BACK WE HAVE AN ENGRAVED “LA” LOGO, AN I/O POWER SWITCH, AND THE INPUT FOR THE 19 V/AC ADAPTER (ALSO INCLUDED).
IN ADDITION, EACH MODULE HAS ITS OWN KEYED IDC RIBBON CABLE.
